In women, primary responsibilities in breast health include determining appropriate breast examinations and follow‑up protocols (such as breast ultrasonography and mammography) in line with current guidelines, sharing these recommendations, and thereby increasing public awareness on this topic. Another major task of this subgroup is to ensure the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, which occupies an important place in breast health and is unfortunately increasing in incidence in the general population.
Today, it is crucial to inform patients diagnosed with breast cancer about fertility preservation prior to treatment. The subgroup also aims to monitor and provide guidance on the gynecologic and sexual health of patients diagnosed with breast cancer, and to inform them accordingly. In addition, counseling women who carry mutations associated with increased breast cancer risk (such as BRCA1, BRCA2, etc.) regarding surveillance of their gynecologic and reproductive health is an important objective.
