After completing my primary and secondary education in Elazığ, I graduated from Istanbul Haydarpaşa High School for Boys and entered Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1976. I graduated with honors in April 1982, ranking among the top 10. A month later, I started my compulsory service in Erzincan. In June 1984, I completed my basic military training with honors and served for 14 months at the Istanbul Kalender Military Barracks infirmary. In June 1985, I passed the specialization exam in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. I started my specialization training on August 21, 1985. During this period, I prepared my thesis entitled "The Relationship between Tissue Concentration and Plasma Levels of CEA, AFP and HCG in Gynecological Tumors" and qualified as an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist on June 15, 1990, and started working as a specialist physician with a research assistant position in the same clinic. On September 2, 1992, I was assigned to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecological Oncology, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University, by the Rectorate of Istanbul University. I earned the title of Associate Professor on October 5, 1993. Between May 15, 1995, and November 30, 1995, I participated in clinical studies in the field of Gynecological Oncology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California, for a total of six and a half months. I received the title of Professor in 1999. I currently continue my work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecological Oncology, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. I am married with two children and I speak English fluently.
