Dr. İlkin Acar Açıkgöz graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and is currently completing her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. During her residency, she has gained extensive clinical experience in benign and malignant gynecologic diseases, reproductive health, minimally invasive surgery, and high-risk pregnancies, while actively participating in clinical and academic research. Her current thesis focuses on the role of non-invasive imaging modalities, including shear wave elastography and ultrasound attenuation imaging, in the evaluation of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease among patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. 

Her academic interests include gynecologic surgery, infertility, reproductive endocrinology, and gynecologic oncology. She has contributed to several scientific studies and international publications, particularly in the fields of pregnancy-associated breast cancer, hysteroscopic surgery, and complex gynecologic cases. In addition, she has presented numerous oral, poster, and video communications at national scientific meetings, served as a session chair, and authored a book chapter on the immunological and genetic causes of female infertility in the textbook Current Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technologies.
