Professor Ertan Sarıdoğan, is a Professor of Gynecological Surgery and a Consultant Gynecologist, specializing in the minimally invasive surgical management of benign gynecological conditions. He completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and subsequently finished his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1991.
After then He moved to London, where he undertook advanced postgraduate training in Reproductive Medicine and completed his PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine, University of London. After achieving the title of Associate Professor in 1996 and completing his training in minimally invasive surgery, he was appointed as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Minimally Invasive Surgery at University College London Hospitals in 2000.
Throughout his academic and professional career, Professor Sarıdoğan has held numerous prominent leadership roles. He serves as a Board Member of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) and Scientific Chair of its Annual Congresses. He is also the President of the International Society for Fallopian Tube and Reproductive Surgery and Director of the Gynecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment (GESEA) Programme of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.
He previously served as President of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) (2014–2016), Trustee and Chair of the Medical Advisory Panel at Endometriosis UK, representative to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) at the United Kingdom, and a member of the Endometriosis Guideline Development Group.
His clinical interests include laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, endometriosis, and outpatient hysteroscopy. His research focuses on the function of healthy and diseased fallopian tubes and clinical outcomes following endometriosis surgery. Since 2011, he has served as an ambassador for Women’s Endoscopic Surgery (WES).
