Dr. Özhan Turan, graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988 and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SSK Bakırköy Maternity and Children’s Hospital in 1996. He received advanced training in Maternal–Fetal Medicine at the Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine in London (2005) and at the University of Maryland Medical Center (2011), where he also completed further fellowship training.

Dr. Turan is currently a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and serves as the Director of Fetal Therapy and Complex Obstetric Surgery. He has conducted extensive research in fetal monitoring and Doppler ultrasonography, and has more recently developed both 2D and 3D ultrasound techniques for assessing the fetal adrenal gland to predict preterm birth.

He has advanced training and experience in fetal interventions and complex maternal surgery. His clinical expertise focuses on preterm birth, high-risk obstetric surgery, and fetal therapy, including laser and intrauterine interventions. Dr. Turan was named “Top Doctor” in Maternal–Fetal Medicine by Baltimore Magazine in 2016 and 2020.
