Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şebnem Alanya Tosun was born on October 26, 1984, in Samsun, Türkiye. She graduated from TED Ankara College Foundation Private High School in 2002 and completed her medical education at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 2009 and 2014.

She participated as an observer at the IVF Center of Vrije University Faculty of Medicine in Brussels, Belgium (2006), and at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ostrava Faculty of Medicine, Czech Republic (2015). She obtained the Assisted Reproductive Technologies Clinical Practice Certificate in 2018 and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2022.

Between 2017 and 2024, she served as a faculty member at Giresun University Faculty of Medicine, and between 2021 and 2024, she held administrative roles as Vice Dean and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since 2024, she has been working at the IVF Center of Trabzon Kanuni Training and Research Hospitaland serves as an Associate Professor at Trabzon University Faculty of Medicine.
