Talat Umut Kutlu Dilek M.D. Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
He completed his secondary education in 1991, graduating from Ankara Bahçelievler Deneme High School. In 1997, he graduated second in his class from Gazi University School of Medicine. Between 1997 and 2002, he completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Gazi University School of Medicine. From the end of 2003 onward, he began working as a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Mersin University. He established the Department of Perinatology at Mersin University School of Medicine and the High Risk Pregnancies Department in the Mersin University Training Hospital. Between 2008 and 2013, he led the Rotary International District 2430 project entitled “Early Diagnosis Saves Lives,” a breast cancer education and awareness project conducted within the province of Mersin.
In 2015, after serving for a total of 13 years as a faculty member at Mersin University, he left this post and joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Acıbadem University as a faculty member. At Acıbadem University Atakent Hospital, he established the High-Risk Pregnancy Unit. Since 2020, he has been working as a perinatology specialist in his private practice. He also serves part-time as a perinatology consultant at the Florence Nightingale Group Hospitals. Also, he has served as a visiting (Volunteer) Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Demiroglu Bilim University School of Medicine since 2024. Over a period of 21 years, he has taught courses on pregnancy and childbirth to 4th- and 6th-year medical students in three different medical schools. Prof. Talat Umut Kutlu Dilek, a perinatology specialist, has authored more than 200 articles published in national and international journals, and has presented numerous papers at national and international congresses. His publications indexed within the Science Citation Index have received more than 500 citations internationally. His primary areas of interest and research include the prevention of preterm birth, the management of fetal growth disorders, fetal cardiology, fetal neurology, and the application of three- and four-dimensional ultrasonography in prenatal diagnosis.
